Sandwich plates valves, also known as plate and frame filters or membrane filter presses, are used in industrial processes for filtration purposes. They consist of a series of alternating filter plates and frames that are held together by a closing device such as a hydraulic press or mechanical clamp. The filter plates have a sandwich-like structure with a membrane or filter cloth in between two solid plates.
The process fluid enters the valve and flows through the filter plates, where the solid particles are trapped by the filter medium while the filtered fluid continues through the system. The filtered fluid is then collected on the other side of the filter plates. When the filter medium becomes clogged with solid particles, the filter plates can be opened, the used filter medium can be removed, and a new one can be installed.
Sandwich plates valves are commonly used in applications such as wastewater treatment, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and chemical processing. They offer several advantages over other types of filters, including high filtration efficiency, low maintenance requirements, and ease of cleaning and replacement of filter media.
Sandwich plates with porting pattern according to DIN 24340 form A and ISO 4401 in nominal sizes 6 to 22.
