Types and characteristics of swing hydraulic motor

Swing hydraulic motor, also known as swing hydraulic cylinder, is a kind of hydraulic actuator for reciprocating swing of output shaft. The structure of the swing hydraulic motor is generally simpler than the various continuous rotation hydraulic motors introduced in this book.

(1) Types of swing hydraulic motors are usually divided into two categories: vane type and piston type, as shown in Figure o, which can be represented by graphical symbols as shown in Figure P. When working, the pressure oil of the vane type swing motor drives the vane to drive the output shaft and the working mechanism to swing back and forth, and the pressure oil of the piston type swing motor drives the piston to move in a straight line to drive the output shaft and the working mechanism to swing.

(2) The biggest advantage of the swing hydraulic motor is that the output shaft directly drives the load swing, without any speed change mechanism, so it has been widely used in ship steering gear drive, radar antenna platform control, sonar matrix swing, automobile and refrigerator production line, all kinds of manipulators, machine tools and mining machinery swing. In the past, the swing hydraulic motor has the disadvantages of large internal leakage and low working pressure. With the progress of technology and the improvement of structure, material and seal, the leakage is reduced and the efficiency performance is improved. The service pressure of the swing hydraulic motor has reached 25MPa, the output torque can reach tens of thousands of n · m, and the minimum stable speed can reach 0.001rad/s.
