Structure and characteristics of compound hydraulic pump

Compound hydraulic pump is a kind of hydraulic component based on common double pump. It is composed of several pumps with different structures and driven by a prime mover. The compound hydraulic pump has the following combinations.

① Multiple vane pumps or multiple duplex pumps.

② Multiple vane pumps or multiple radial piston pumps.

③ Multiple radial piston pumps or multiple gear pumps.

④ A vane pump and a gear pump.

⑤ Two axial piston pumps.

The composite hydraulic pump can realize the combined oil supply of high and low pressure and flow between multiple hydraulic pumps, so as to adapt to the various demands of pressure and flow of the hydraulic system under variable working conditions, so as to reduce the excess pressure and flow caused by a single high pressure and large flow pump under non peak load conditions, reduce energy loss and system heating, and improve the efficiency and performance of the system.

A special coupling or flange can be used to realize the series connection between the single pumps in the compound hydraulic pump, and a through shaft structure can also be used between the single pumps.

The performance parameters of compound hydraulic pump (such as pressure, displacement, etc.) depend on the parameters of single pump. However, the maximum torque acting on the drive shaft and through shaft of each single pump shall not be higher than their allowable limit value. In particular, it must be considered that the total torque acting on the first stage drive shaft is the sum of the torques driving other single pumps, as shown in Figure M. The hydraulic graphic symbols of the compound pump are related to the oil way connection between the pumps. Figure n shows the hydraulic graphic symbols of the three compound pumps.
